LOWER MANHATTAN PROJECT

This 1966 master plan for the future of Lower Manhattan for the city of New York called for a residential community, built on filled land, to bring a balanced 24-hour community to the area. The plan resulted in the nearly complete Battery Park City on the West Side, and the beginnings of new East Side development.
