In "New York Live," James Rossant the artist took on James Rossant architect. He took his drawings of New York City, many of which depict a constant struggle between its buildings, and transformed them into three dimensions. The five myles gallery and its director gave him the perfect opportunity. Within the large open space of Five Myles, he and his assistants constructed a real-life replica of one of his large watercolor drawings. Rossant presented it as a walk-through city, more than ten feet tall and thirty five feet long. The installation had its own sound track of a child's song in German. It received lighting from illuminating within plus floodlights. At its center was a fifty foot long raised "sidewalk."
